Plea for Peace: Native American Inspired Maiden
Her sure-footed friend and companion has brought her safely to this precarious perch. Here, between earth and sky, she pauses. Below her, in the distance, she sees the members of the peace council party. Leading them is her intended, strong and confident. But if his peace-making mission fails.... Passionately, she folds her arms across her breast and looks to the sunrise sky. ‘Oh Great Spirit, hear my humble plea for peace’. Drama and beauty come together in this inspiring new collectable ‘Plea for Peace’ a stunning inspirational portrait in porcelain, dramatically posed and sculpted, from talented doll artist Sandra Bilotto.
The ‘Plea for Peace’ maiden is dressed in faux ‘buckskin’, highlighted with elaborate fringing. A hand-beaded necklace encircles her throat, and around her head is a beaded headband featuring real feathers. Her ‘buckskin’ boots are decorated with beads at the toe and fringed with beaded medallions. The horse she rides is just as impressive, crafted in resin with every muscle and sinew carefully sculpted for the ultimate in realism. From the white blaze on its face to the tip of its ‘horsehair’ tail, this horse is a work of art in itself.
