A unique and officially endorsed Hawker Hurricane aircraft sculptural 80th anniversary aircraft, exclusive to The Bradford Exchange – On 25th December 1937, the Hawker Hurricane aircraft soared into the annals of military history with the 111 Squadron. One of Fighter Command’s most successful fighters, the plane was famed for its crucial role in the Battle of Britain, accruing 60% of the victories in the battle. The men who crewed these planes would be lauded by Sir Winston Churchill as ‘The Few’, and heralded as heroes.

Now, on the 80th anniversary of the Hurricane aircraft’s entry into active service, a hand-sculpted market-first prepares to soar into your home. The ‘Hawker Hurricane Aircraft’ 80th Anniversary Sculpture is exclusive to The Bradford Exchange. Officially endorsed by the Douglas Bader Foundation, the sculpture is accompanied by its own detailed Fact Card. The edition is limited to just 4,999 editions worldwide, and the basestamp is individually numbered.

Handcrafted, the plane is portrayed in flight, high above Britain’s white cliffs. The nose of the aircraft is emblazoned with the Union flag while each wing serves as a canvas for the ‘Cloud Companions’ and ‘Guardians’ art of aviation artist, Philip E. West. The markings are that of pilot ace, Archie McKellar, who became an ace in 1 day, gaining fame during the Battle of Britain as part of, and later as Squadron Leader of, 605 Squadron. On the 7th October 1940, McKellar shot down 5 Messerschmidtt Bf 109s in a single day – one of only 24 Allied pilots to do so.

The sculpture is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and our famous 365-day money-back guarantee. Order now!
