A unique precision Quartz movement men's watch tribute to The Endurance with gold-plated stainless steel casing and genuine leather strap, exclusive to The Bradford Exchange – Endurance... Sir Ernest Shackleton’s iconic ship took its name from the explorer’s family motto, ‘Fortitudine Vincimus’ (‘By Endurance, We Conquer’). One of the age’s strongest wooden ships, iconic Endurance is remembered for its ill-fated Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition voyage through the Antarctic’s Weddell Sea, where she met her fate in the crushing ice in November 1915.

As the crew abandoned the sinking ship, they took lifeboats to Elephant Island. 22 men waited, whilst Shackleton and 5 crew sailed the largest lifeboat 800 miles to a South Georgian whaling station, seeking rescue. As the whaling ships were unable to penetrate Antarctic sea ice, it took three months before Shackleton reached his crew in August 1916. Shackleton’s efforts ensured the survival of every man.

In commemoration of Shackleton’s famed expedition, The Bradford Exchange has commissioned an exclusive market-first. Not available on the high street, the Shackleton ‘Endurance’ Gold-Plated Men’s Watch is a collector’s must-have.
