A unique and officially endorsed Douglas Bader Foundation sculptural WWII 80th anniversary Supermarine Spitfire aircraft figurine, exclusive to The Bradford Exchange – During WWII, the battle-ready Supermarine Spitfire soared into the annals of military history. One of Fighter Command’s most successful fighters, this exceptional plane was perhaps most famed for its crucial role in the Battle of Britain. The courageous men who crewed these planes would later be lauded by Sir Winston Churchill as ‘The Few’, and heralded as heroes – including the fearless fighter ace, Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader.

Now, on the 80th anniversary of the Spitfire aircraft’s entry into active service on the 4th August 1938, a hand-sculpted market-first prepares to soar into your home. The ‘Supermarine Spitfire’ 80th Anniversary Sculptural Aircraft is exclusive to The Bradford Exchange. Officially endorsed by the Douglas Bader Foundation, the sculpture is accompanied by its own detailed Fact Card.

Handcrafted, the plane is portrayed in flight, high above a WWII London skyline. The nose of the aircraft is emblazoned with the Union flag while each wing serves as a canvas for the notable art of aviation artist, Philip E. West. The call letters are those of Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader, who held command of Squadron 242 during the Battle of Britain.

Limited to just 4,999 editions worldwide, this sculpture is individually numbered on the basestamp and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, a FREE Fact Card, and our famous 365-day guarantee. Order now!
